Goals are the milestones that we work for; they give us a sense of accomplishment, provide us with challenges and developmental opportunities at all times. To me goals are incredibly important, since they define my path of action. My mission statement serves as my compass, my goals are the map which I use to navigate in the ocean that is life.

These are my main goals to this date:

 

Short Term (6 months to a year)

  

      ·    Finishing internship at Panama Canal Authority: though this is only the beginning, near the end of the internship I will know if there are chances of me getting a job offer in one of Panama’s greatest and most important companies: The Panama Canal.

  

    ·     Earning my bachelor’s degree: with only one semester to go, my drive is more resolved than ever to graduate with the highest GPA I can get

  

    ·      Working at al multinational, or large national company: I will work either at a multinational hub in Panama or a large Panamanian company; this way I will gain much more real life experience which besides being extremely valuable, will prove useful for my future endeavors.

  

Medium Term (2 years to 6 years)

  

    ·    Getting to Harvard MBA; MIT Sloan School of Management; Kellogg University:  After working for around 2-3 years, I will continue my professional studies at one of these three prestigious business schools, learning both more in depth business principles, and directing myself towards the future that is IT management.

  

    ·   Working with Google; Facebook; Microsoft: By working with these companies I will ensure my international and IT development, as well as business development. This way I will become a better administrator and in turn become a more experienced professional.

 

    ·  Continue my foreign language studies: After completing my studies in French language, I will continue my studies with Chinese, later on Japanese, and Italian. In doing so I will become a much more valuable asset to any company I work for and I will also grow culturally.

  

Long Term (7 years or more)

  

    · Form a family: this is one of my most important goals. I will form a good family and nurture my relationship with my future wife and children, since to me family is one of the most important things a human being has.

 

   ·  Opening my own consulting business: Using experience earned throughout my work life, I will open a consulting business, thus becoming an entrepreneur and allowing me to give back to the country that has given so much to me: Panama.
